Running annually since 1996, The North London Story Festival (Story Fest) is the longest-running student-led festival that aims to celebrate all forms of storytelling via hosting a range of guest speakers and holding practical workshops at the Hendon campus of Middlesex University in London.
Formerly the North London Literary Festival, previous speakers include Dame Professor Carol Ann Duffy, David Nicholls, Al Kennedy, Lynton Kwesi Johnson, Andrew Motion, Fay Weldon and published alumni of Middlesex University.
The theme for our event in March 2021 was ‘Transformation’. To view some of the transformative activities that took place, you can access the event website directly below.
The themes for our event 7-11 March 2022 are Inspiration and Community. As a Story Festival – rather than the more traditional Literary Festival – we are hosting speakers and workshops that cover the full spectrum of powerful story-telling as entertainment, a key approach to leading in business contexts, marketing, community-building, and even therapy.
Our March 2022 Story Fest is being delivered both face-to-face and via zoom with Middlesex University’s Creative Partners, who include UK publishers, universities, media organisations, and employers.
During the March 2022 Story Fest, we will be announcing the winners of our Writing Competition, which invites articles, essays and creative responses to the following question: How can a community best help to inspire creatives?
